Local Market Buoyed By Wall St

Australian share market ended the week on a positive note, with the All Ordinaries adding 185 points to 5882 points after consumer confidence was restored following strong results from Wall St.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index gained 192.6 points or 3.4% to finish at 5842.90.

All S&P/ASX indices performed well, ending on a positive note up by about 2.9% to 3.3%.

BHP Billiton rose $1.50 to $38.55 and was the sixth most traded stock on the ASX in terms of volume.

The Australian dollar was buying US89 cents.
