WorleyParsons Awarded $350 Million Contract

Professional services provider, Worley Parsons (WOR) said on Friday its Canadian subsidiary has won a $350 million contract by Suncor Energy for the engineering, procurement and construction management of a Canadian oil sands project.

The project is a key element of Suncor Energy's plan to deliver an additional 70000bbpd of oil sands at the Firebag in-site facility located near Fort McMurray in northern Alberta, Canada.

It was started in December and is scheduled for commercial operation in the first quarter on 2010.

"This award continues our strong working relationship with Suncor and our leadership position in the oil sands industry," chief executive officer of WorleyParsons John Grill said.

The news follows Thursday's announcement of a five-year contract, potentially worth $70 million for WorleyParsons, to provide on-site engineering and support services at BP's Kwinana oil refinery in WA.

It covers ongoing projects and modifications at the refinery, which is the largest capacity oil refinery in Australia, processing about 135,000 barrels of oil per day.

Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2002, WorleyParsons is a leading provider of professional services to the energy, resource and complex process industries.

It is included in the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index.

Shares in WOR rose 1.09% to $51.01 at 12.54PM AEST.
