Shares of Apple (+1.8%), Amazon (+0.6%), 3M (+1.5%) and Oracle (+3.6%) amongst the top performers. But shares of Chevron (-1.0%) fell as the oil price declined and Goldman Sachs (-0.6%) shares were weighed down by falling bond yields. The Dow Jones index rose by 104 points or 0.3%. The S&P 500 index also added 0.3% and the Nasdaq index was up by 1 point or less than 0.1% -both closing at record highs.
